Work That Reconnects Facilitator Training
Jigsaw, 10 Belvedere Court, Dublin 1, Dublin, Ireland
Sunday is aimed at people who would like to facilitate this work with their groups.
The Work that Reconnects is a dynamic, interactive group process which helps us to gain a sense of connection to each other and to the web of life, and motivates us to play our part in creating a sustainable civilization. It is invaluable for anyone who is involved or would like to be involved in promoting positive change for people and planet, and addresses the emotional reality of 'how to face the mess we're in without going crazy'. It was developed by Joanna Macy, an American activist, scholar and respected elder in systems theory, deep ecology, and Buddhism.
We are privileged to have visiting US facilitator and musician Lydia Violet Harutoonian lead us through this intimate experience on these two days training. Lydia, M.A. has apprenticed closely with Joanna Macy for the past decade, learning how we can metabolize our pain for the world into energy for resilience, action, and community. As Lydia is also a community singing and music facilitator, we will experience both the teachings of Joanna Macy and the power of music to resource us as we face both the peril and promise of our time. You do not need to be a singer to participate, the community singing will be safe, non-threatening and accessible to all. Together we'll learn tools, meditations, and concepts that we can rest into and organize with, in our desires to be effective allies to both planet and people.
10am-5pm Sat 27 July: A day to experience the WTR, open to all.
10am-4pm Sun 28 July: Training for Trainers. This day is designed to give those who already work with groups (e.g. activist groups, adult education, community workers) some tools to begin to explore WTR with their own groups.
